My name is Camille Kesler. I am a Labor and Delivery Nurse and Cappa trained doula. Throughout nursing school, women’s health and families became my passion. I have been working in Labor and Delivery for five years. I have a great enthusiasm for pregnancy and the adventure it takes women and their families on. I am married to an amazing man and we have 2 beautiful little girls. Both of my pregnancy’s and labor experiences were different. What I have learned from my experience is that no matter who you are, what you do, or how you have done things before, education and knowledge are powerful and priceless.

My personal philosophy about birth is that women have choices in their pregnancy and labor experience. In gaining knowledge, I feel women can let out their inner confidence to allow themselves a great and memorable birth experience. I appreciate the differences in pregnancies and individual’s labor plans. Whether someone chooses medication or a totally natural pain coping technique, I believe I can help you and your support team feel comfortable and confident in the decisions you make. Hiring a doula assures you the extra outside support system that can provide you with an objective view of your labor and provide the needed information to help you make informed decisions.

As you begin the journey into pregnancy, you are often met by a rush of emotions. The miracle of life growing inside you has taken you to new heights. Excitement. Joy. Possibilities. Happiness. Love. These feelings take on a new meaning as you begin to travel down the path of this life changing adventure. Yet some of us often find ourselves at a crossroad. We suddenly meet feelings of doubt, worry, confusion, sickness, and anxiety. As a nurturing labor and delivery nurse, mother of two, and doula, I understand the process of giving birth and have experience in many high-risk labor situations.
Labor 4 You was created in my vision to help mothers and families make
transition to parenthood a memorable one.
The following four key values outline the purpose of my service

*Labor 4 You....4 Key Values*
1. Caring.
To nurture. To foster. To treat carefully. To guide. This time in your life is without a doubt, priceless. As a doula it is my efforts will be centered on giving you and your family the specialized care you deserve. Building a relationship with all those involved in your pregnancy is an important part of a positive experience.

2. Competent. Pre-ecclampsia. Terbutaline. GBS. Rh factor. Sound familiar? Education, knowledge, and experience are essential when dealing with pregnancy. Individuals have different health backgrounds, previous health conditions, and different questions. With a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing you will find that experience isn’t expensive, it’s priceless. I will work with you and your partner through these different stages, so you both can make informed decisions that best fits your needs.

3. Complete. Whether this is your first pregnancy or your fifth, each is different. Whether you are pregnant with one baby or three, each pregnancy holds significance. I have developed a unique journal called Sweet Beginnings that is individualized to keep each moment as a precious memory. From the pregnancy test to your baby’s first cry, nothing is more valuable than feeling throughout your journey you really lived each moment.

4. Confidence. I am confident in each individual’s abilities. I have been apart of numerous delivery experiences and each time I learn something new about my patients and myself. I am excited about the possibilities you might choose for your delivery. It is my promise to instill in you the confidence needed through education, practice, and encouragement to help you have the most enjoyable and memorable delivery experience.

General definition of a DOULA:
A doula accompanies a woman in labor to provide physical, emotional, and educational support for a more satisfying birth experience. A doula works for the woman, not the care provider or the hospital. A doula does not perform clinical tasks such as fetal heart rate monitoring, nor does she make medical diagnoses. A doula will helps make decisions by providing information and support, but will not make decisions for the clients. She will also remind the woman if there is a departure from her birth plan, discuss options, and support the woman's informed decisions. A labor doula, is not legally able to speak to the medical staff on the woman's behalf, although she may do so. A labor doula works in the capacity to offer suggestions and present options, not to make clinical assessment or decisions concerning a woman's labor and birth. Therefore, professionally and personally doulas cannot assume responsibility for the outcome of births and cannot guarantee a particular outcome.
